Creo recordar que hace casi dos años, en una de nuestras escasas conversaciones sobre música, defendía aquello que yo personalmente buscaba o me agradaba, o aquello que describía la música que más me gusta. O incluso los requisitos que tenía que cumplir para merecer la pena dedicarle un trozo de tus emociones. Y la verdad es que nunca fui capaz de balbucear unas palabras que pudiesen aproximarse.

Por suerte, la razón indirecta por la que atiendo al Facebook es porque me mantiene al día de hechos también entorno a mis grupos preferidos... Y entre otros, se hacía link a un artículo de un crítico aparentemente reconocido, Paul Shirley, de la cadena estadounidense ESPN. Yendo al grano, escribe algunas palabras para su álbum preferido del año, Mean Everything To Nothing, del grupo Manchester Orchestra, y aunque tampoco son las palabras que yo buscaba, le otorgan con bastante fiabilidad-fidelidad, exactitud y precisión (hmmm) el matiz que yo siempre he querido resaltar.

Últimamente tengo una especial fijación con que lo que escucho rebose sinceridad a raudales, sea lo que sea; ocurre mucho con Biffy Clyro, con Manchester Orchestra, cada vez menos con Muse... Bueno, a lo que iba. Breve extracto de la crítica de este señor.

"There's a moment in Manchester Orchestra's song "Shake It Out." It comes at the 2:36 mark. The tone of the song goes from frantic and rawk to soft and introspective. It is a breathtaking transition. That moment in time isn't unique to one song on "Mean Everything To Nothing." To me, the record satisfies all of my requirements for a great rock record. There are big guitars. There's vulnerability. There's storytelling. And most of all -- there's humanity. After listening to Manchester Orchestra all year long, I feel like I know lead singer Andy Hull. And I feel like Andy Hull -- like every other person -- has had some very "human" years. ¿Qué quiero con este post? Que entendáis un poquito mejor mi pasión por esta música, mostraros un nuevo e increíble grupo... Y con suerte que salga una buena combinación de ambos. No creo que haga falta recordar que recomiendo escucharlo todo con buenos auriculares/altavoces... Aunque el simple hecho de que lo escucháseis (me refiero cláramente a "escucháseis" y no a "oyéseis") sería todo un logro :)
